I am writing to formally object to the proposed development of 205 residential flats on the land to the rear of my property.
While I understand the need for additional housing, this proposal raises significant concerns that I believe have not been adequately addressed:
Overdevelopment and Density
The proposed number of units represents a significant overdevelopment of the site. This density is out of character with the surrounding area and will dramatically change the nature of our community.
Impact on Privacy
The height and proximity of the proposed buildings will result in a severe loss of privacy for residents whose gardens and homes back directly onto the site.
Traffic and Parking Issues
The development will inevitably increase traffic in an already congested area, particularly during peak times. There is also insufficient information on parking provisions for both residents and visitors, which may lead to overspill parking on surrounding roads.
Strain on Local Infrastructure and Services
Local schools, GP surgeries, and public services are already stretched. An influx of potentially hundreds of new residents will place unsustainable pressure on these resources.
Environmental and Wildlife Impact
The area behind our homes includes green space and mature trees that are vital for local biodiversity. The proposed development threatens to destroy natural habitats and reduce the quality of our environment.
Construction Disruption
Given the scale of the development, I am very concerned about the noise, dust, and general disruption during what is likely to be a lengthy construction period.
In light of these concerns, I respectfully request that this application be refused
