I strongly oppose the proposed 205-home development at STC Sports Club in the heart of New Eltham Village. This land is part of our Green Chain — a protected space playing a vital role in our community’s health, environment, and identity.
The plan will destroy mature trees, significantly increase congestion, and create years of disruptive construction right on our doorstep. Our local infrastructure — schools, GPs, roads and water services (which are already under enormous pressure and constantly under repair). Adding hundreds of residents without proper upgrades will only make things worse. I also believe this development if it went ahead would devalue local properties currently surrounding STC.
I object to this proposal in the strongest possible way. New Eltham is a small village, this would be the death of it. I sincerely hope it is refused at the earliest stage.
