I strongly object to the proposed development on this green space.
1. Lack of healthcare infrastructure: The area already struggles with limited GP services. Adding more residents without expanding medical facilities will overwhelm the system and compromise care for everyone.
2. Health risks from construction and pollution: I suffer from severe asthma, and the building work will significantly increase air pollution from dust and vehicle emissions. This poses a serious risk not only to those with existing conditions, but may also trigger respiratory problems in otherwise healthy residents.
3. Negative impact on property values: The presence of new buildings on what is currently an open field will reduce the appeal of our homes and make them harder to sell. Property values are likely to fall as a result.
4. Loss of privacy: Many of us value the peaceful, private outlook at the back of our homes. High-rise flats overlooking our gardens would be a complete invasion of that privacy.
5. Increased traffic and safety concerns: More housing means more cars, leading to increased congestion, pollution, and danger, particularly around the already hazardous bridge on Green Lane. Just three weeks ago, a serious accident occurred involving two overturned vehicles.
