This would result in a shameful loss of an active community green space. The pitches are in regular use throughout the week and weekend especially with the local underage and adult football teams. I have no doubt that the 90 minutes or so that our local people spend playing for these grassroots teams are vital to their physical and emotional well being. The trees and shrubs surrounding the pitches are home to much wildlife - birds, small mammals and many varieties of insects. Bulldozing this all to make way for a development would cause irreparable damage to the biodiversity of the area and no amount of newly planted green space will make up for it.
I'd also be very concerned about the proximity of such a large building site to Wyborne Primary School. The damage to the air quality as well as the dangers of heavy vehicles operating in the area pose a risk to the children there.
