OBJECTION FROM Claire (SE9 2AW)

STC SPORTS CLUB, ELTHAM  - SIGMA STRATEGIC

The proposed build on the STC grounds is strongly opposed. Firstly, the amount of noise and disruption this will cause for several years would be horrendous. I work from home 3 days per week and work in a room that backs onto the STC ground so will be hugely impacted. I am always on Zoom meetings and calls to clients and I do not see how I will be able to concentrate with the works immediately behind my home office.

Secondly, there appears to be one entrance into and out of the development. Green Lane is already used as a cut through for lots of traffic, therefore, all of the delivery trucks etc. that will be entering the development site will block the road which is already a nightmare, especially since the ridiculous amendments were made to the bridge to make this one way. Also, once the development is complete, with 205 homes, there will possibly be at least one car per home (or more) therefore meaning there will be lots more cars entering and using Green Lane.

Thirdly, the amount of foot traffic will also increase. With 205 homes and at least one person living in each home it will make the area less safe. The schools and local doctors/ dentists are already over subscribed and it will make getting appointments even harder.

Fourthly, why would anyone who currently lives in Green Lane want houses/ flats overlooking their homes, our gardens will be overlooked reducing privacy

Fifthly, the amount of pollution that the works will cause is not acceptable. The government are always harping on about global warming yet they cause most of the issues with these new build developments. The land is part of  the green chain and should be protected. There are also bats on site which surely should not be disturbed.

Finally, who are these houses going to be sold to? The council perhaps? Do we really want Green Lane becoming a council estate? We paid good money for our homes and this development will reduce the value of the properties. If developing “affordable housing” anyone could move into this new development and make the area less safe.

To reiterate, I strongly object to this development.
