I strongly oppose the development on the STC ground in New Eltham, for the following reasons:
The traffic coming out of one entrance will be horrendous and dangerous as Green Lane is already used as a cut through and there is so much traffic already.
There is no consideration for anyone other than your financial gain
Our gardens will be overlooked by the 3 to 4 storey flats and we will have no privacy
This 3 to 4 year development will have a huge impact regarding noise and pollution and cutting down of mature trees
The doctors surgeries, schools etc. are already overcrowded and with 205 houses being developed there will be many additional people who will need to use these facilities.
With hundreds of new residents, the area will feel less safe for the older population
At the moment the grounds are used for people to walk their dogs, many use the area to play football over the weekends. The land will be destroyed and the wildlife impacted for the sake of you earning more money on a project that is unsustainable.
You are destroying our beloved New Eltham which is a lovely community where I have lived for over 40 years. The value of our homes will decrease.
For the last few years, Greenwich council have been purchasing private properties at the cost of £500k plus, spending money to revamp them before giving them to council tenants, all at tax payers expense. They seem to do what they want!
