I object to Sigma Strategic Land's proposed 205-home development on the STC Sports Ground in Eltham because it violates protected Metropolitan Open Land (MOL) status and disrupts the South East London Green Chain ecological corridor. The project would remove mature trees, cause years of construction disruption, and permanently destroy irreplaceable green space without proper community consultation or local benefits. I'm concerned about infrastructure strain on already congested roads and overburdened schools and healthcare facilities, while the developer's £4M contribution isn't ringfenced for the SE9 area bearing the impact. While I support housing development in general, I oppose building on protected green space when alternative sites exist, particularly when the developer is attempting to sidestep longstanding environmental protections through questionable reclassification rather than formal processes.
