I strongly object to the proposed development at STC Sports Club for several reasons. This project would result in the irreversible loss of valuable green space, which is essential for the well-being of our community. It would place further strain on already overburdened local services, including schools and healthcare facilities, which are struggling to meet current demand.
Additionally, the development would increase traffic and congestion in the area, compounding existing problems on local roads. We already experience repeated drainage and water management issues on Footscray Road, which this development would likely worsen, leading to further disruption and potential environmental harm.
Previous similar proposals have been rightfully rejected due to their failure to align with community interests, and this latest plan is no different. The land should be preserved for recreational use and not sacrificed for housing developments that disregard local needs and concerns.
