I strongly object to this proposal. It does not adequately address how local infrastructure will cope with increased demand. There are serious concerns about the capacity of roads, public transport, healthcare services, and utilities to support the additional population. It is unclear where the extra school places required for new families will be provided. Existing schools are already under pressure, and no clear plan has been shared to show how this demand will be met.
The term “affordable homes” is vague. It is important to clarify whether these homes will be available to first-time buyers through shared ownership or discounted mortgages, or if they will be rental-only properties. The community needs transparency about who these homes are intended for and how affordability is being defined.
The construction will also destroy our privacy and quality of life.
