As long term residents and neighbours of the STC club, we would oppose yet another attempt at building on what is ‘ green chain’ land. The proposed mixed development of 205 houses and blocks of flats is ugly in conception and would seriously compromise existing properties surrounding the site not only during building but also on completion.In addition, the pressure on public services to accommodate this development, we believe, would be immense.The ‘sop’ of £4million to create alternative open spaces elsewhere in the borough seems bizarre when this site already supports social and sporting activities!
